Robyn_talkMeet Robyn O’Brien – unintentional food activist. Over a decade ago, she watched her youngest child go through a severe food allergy and was suddenly thrust into the world of food allergy education. Her finance background set her up to be a natural fit in this world as she was able to both translate the data in this very confusing industry and relate it to everyday moms just like her. Check out her Tedx talk – it has over 1 million views – she is definitely making waves!

    I am an endurance athlete and I have fibromyalgia. I have been reading quite a bit lately about eliminating meat and dairy from my diet. I feel that I could really improve my fibromyalgia symptoms and my athletic performance by incorporating some changes in my diet. That’s why I need this book!

    This was a great podcast – I love all your podcasts and I do listen to them while I run.

    • I think it’s worth trying anything from a diet/nutrition perspective – it won’t hurt and it can only help. Keep me posted and let me know if any diet changes help. You rock!

    I LOVED this interview! I read her book years ago and have recommended it and passed it on to friends. My boys have food allergies and lots of them. Between the two, I have to be aware of peanuts, all shellfish, eggs, walnuts, pecans, cashews, pistachios, almonds, hazelnuts, sesame, sunflower seeds, almonds, and pine nuts. We carry epi-pens and inhalers everywhere we go. Neither my husband nor I have any food allergies. As Robyn often says, are we allergic to our food supply or what has been done to it? A great choice for an interview, Nicole and keep up the amazing and powerful work, Robyn!

      And food….we bring our own food Everywhere. We. Go. We skip and/or arrive late to functions because of food issues. We bring our own cupcakes and ice cream to birthday parties. We feed the boys before we go to any social function and tell them not to eat anything while there. There is nothing cheap, easy, or convenient about food allergies.
